return on thy way...

1 Kings 19:15&16
"15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:
16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room."

Elijah was hiding when GOD finds him and asked; "What DOEST thou HERE?" Elijah answered that he was the only believer left and "they seek MY LIFE, to take it away." Elijah is a mess. He has been an outstanding prophet for the Lord. Achieved great success in a time when the Israelites were very unfaithful. And, now that the idolaters are out to KILL him; he's running scared.

In today's verses GOD answered; "And the LORD said unto him, Go, RETURN on THY WAY to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria: And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room."

GOD is telling Elijah to go back the way he came and continue his work for GOD. Delegate the job of vengeance to others; Hazael, Jehu and Elisha. These names may not be know to Elijah but to GOD they are known and loved. They too are faithful, Elijah is NOT alone.

Matthew 6:11 "Give us this day our daily bread." Last week we focused our studies on “Thy Will Be Done...” We can TRUST in the LORD with ALL our hearts. Let GOD lead us in our daily lives. GOD'S will is for you and me to follow His plan. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Serve Him by helping your friends and neighbors. It's a beautiful way. The rest of this petition is “On Earth as it is in Heaven.” We want God’s kingdom to be established on earth, reflecting the harmony and perfection found in heaven. We can have this in the here and now by prioritizing God’s will, seeking His guidance, and striving to live according to Biblical principles.
