real friends

John 11:1&2
1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)

God solves problems!
As we studied last week; the Israelites wanted meat while wandering the wilderness and GOD sent them COUNTLESS quails! So many quails that people were working around the clock to butcher them and preserve them for later.

This is our GOD. We cannot imagine the lengths GOD has gone to just to save us for all eternity. We are not prepared for the blessings that GOD has planned for us. For an example of this we return to the Gospel of John, chapter eleven, verse one. This is the occasion Jesus has set aside to help His friends in a way that will BLOW their MINDS!!! Today's verses; "Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)" 

Bethany's modern name is El-Azirieh, or El-Lazirieh, connects it with these events, being the Arabic form of the name Lazarus. It is a village on the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives, about two miles from Jerusalem. Lazarus, Mary and Martha were REAL people living in a REAL place. And, they were very good FRIENDS with our Lord and Savior.

Elisha’s example

I will make you

Matthew 4:19&20 "19 And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him." In our "Follow Me" series, we study Jesus calling His disciples in the Gospel of Matthew. By the Sea of Galilee, a thriving fishing hub, Jesus saw Simon and Andrew casting nets as humble fishermen. His disciples were ordinary workers, not wealthy or educated elites. Jesus approached them and said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Remarkably, they immediately left their jobs to follow Him. This brief exchange conveys a profound truth: Jesus says, "I will make you." Only God can transform us to accomplish His purpose. We should often pray, "Help me, God," seeking Jesus' guidance to follow His plan for our lives.
