Your Challenge...

Luke 8:25+
"And He said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for He commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey Him."

The Disciples had seen Jesus perform miracles and they had heard Him claim to be GOD. They should have know that they were sailing with GOD, and there was no way they were in jeopardy. What they might not have believed before was driven home to them this afternoon. They witnessed their teacher, their friend stand up and command the wind and waves to stop; and they OBEYED!!!

Coming off the sheer terror the storm provided, now, the Disciples experience a new type of fear. This man that teaches them, guides them, and is friends with them... He is GOD! Omnipotent. Omniscient. Omnipresent. And, He is standing here, right beside you! And, unbeknownst to the Disciples, they will go on to witnessing this God crucified, buried and RETURN from death! These experiences will inspire them to write Gospels and form the church that transformed the world!

BUT, on this evening when they are on this tiny little boat sailing the sea of Galilee, the Disciples recognized that they are in the presence of GOD.
AND, each one of us has to come to the same conclusion; Jesus is GOD. After all our denials, refusals, and excuses we can arrive in a place that's CALM and we can sit back and say; Yes, Jesus is GOD. He is my Lord and Savior. Then the challenges we face will be to OBEY HIM.

The good parts of these daily devotionals are inspired by the sermon at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg Texas. You can watch it by following this link... https://youtu.be/TfnPUkjCOgM

I will make you

Matthew 4:19&20 "19 And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him." In our "Follow Me" series, we study Jesus calling His disciples in the Gospel of Matthew. By the Sea of Galilee, a thriving fishing hub, Jesus saw Simon and Andrew casting nets as humble fishermen. His disciples were ordinary workers, not wealthy or educated elites. Jesus approached them and said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Remarkably, they immediately left their jobs to follow Him. This brief exchange conveys a profound truth: Jesus says, "I will make you." Only God can transform us to accomplish His purpose. We should often pray, "Help me, God," seeking Jesus' guidance to follow His plan for our lives.

it's over

Revelation 7:17 "For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." Heaven. After the "great tribulation." After we are purified and justified through the atoning work of Christ. We will stand in front of the Lamb and wave palm branches in celebration of victory over death and sin.  We will be with GOD. God will protect us and provide for us. We will be caught up in worshiping Him day and night. Our generous GOD keeps giving even in the afterlife. The tribulations of life will be over. "and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." Your days of crying will be OVER! Your loneliness will be OVER!  Your failure will be OVER! Your sickness will be OVER! Your suffering will be OVER! Your cup will be OVERFLOWING with HIS mercy and love. Nothing can separate you from the Love of Christ. Keep your "eyes" on Jesus. He is your key. ...

God’s patience

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God did not immediately punish King Solomon when he allowed his foreign wives to build altars for false gods. Despite multiple compromises, God remained patient. Over time, Solomon’s endorsement of idolatry defied God’s covenant, leading to divine judgment, including the loss of the kingdom for his son. Some mistake God’s patience for indifference or inaction, but He follows His plan in His timing. If our nation, culture, church, or we ourselves stray like Solomon, we can repent and return to God’s path. And, should do so sooner than later! Amen!
