Judges 7:7-11
7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.
8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
9 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.
10 But if thou fear to go down, go thou with Phurah thy servant down to the host:
11 And thou shalt hear what they say; and afterward shall thine hands be strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host.

With GOD Less is More!
"By the THREE HUNDRED men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand:" GOD has LOWERED Gideon's troop size from twenty-two thousand to three hundred!!! Now... GOD sends them to fight the Midianite army of one hundred and thirty-five thousand troops. Just four hundred and fifty to one odds against the Israelites!?!? It's CRAZY!!!

"Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand." Basically all Gideon has to do is go down the hill to the valley of Jezreel, where the numerous soldiers of Midian are. GOD assures him, that while the odds are against him; the army of Midian will be delivered into his hands! Even so, this took GREAT courage and FAITH for Gideon and his soldiers to execute.

God’s patience

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God did not immediately punish King Solomon when he allowed his foreign wives to build altars for false gods. Despite multiple compromises, God remained patient. Over time, Solomon’s endorsement of idolatry defied God’s covenant, leading to divine judgment, including the loss of the kingdom for his son. Some mistake God’s patience for indifference or inaction, but He follows His plan in His timing. If our nation, culture, church, or we ourselves stray like Solomon, we can repent and return to God’s path. And, should do so sooner than later! Amen!
