John 21:13-15
"13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed Himself to His disciples, after that He was risen from the dead.
15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me more than these? He saith unto Him, Yea, Lord; Thou knowest that I love Thee. He saith unto him, Feed My lambs."
GOD will meet you on the shore. Just like this loving picture of Jesus and His Disciples. The campfire going. The smell of fresh fish cooking. The toasted bread there by the fire. The cool morning breeze. The conversation and laughter from the men. All creation and everything comes together at this shoreline campfire get together.
The contagious excitement and fun reunion is all how our good and gracious GOD blesses His followers!!! This is the third time Jeses brings them together after His resurrection, and this time He has to set something straight. The leader of the Disciples, Peter, denied know Jesus three times before Jesus was executed. This has to weigh HEAVY on Peter's heart and mind. Jesus knows this.
With our modern eyes we can see something very clinical transpires here; Peter's failure and Jesus' crucifixion had caused Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Peter. Now, this morning meeting on the seashore around the coal fire, surrounded by friends is what doctors today call "Imagery Re Scripting and Reprocessing Therapy" a part of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Jesus is repairing Peter's past; three times Peter denied he was a Disciple of Jesus, now three times Peter professes his love to Jesus in front of the other Disciples.
This is a beautiful moment; "So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me more than these? He saith unto Him, Yea, Lord; Thou knowest that I love Thee. He saith unto him, Feed My lambs."
