Luke 11:46
"And He said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers."
We are coming from studying the Greek woman who had FAITH asking our Lord and Savior to heal her daughter! She allowed herself to be compared to a dog begging for scraps from the Master's table. She was rewarded with the healing of her daughter. Her FAITH in Jesus saved her too! Isaiah prophesied that the Messiah came for everyone and not just the Jews. We read these actions demonstrated this beautifully.
Then we read in the Gospel of John where JESUS calls us to come into His light and His goodness. We do not need to hide in the darkness. We do not need to do bad things to get ahead. We can do what is right and good in the sight of GOD and we will be called His children. We will be His Cosen people! You and me; Chosen by GOD!
It's really mind-boggling and EVEN better than that! Today's verse, from the Gospel of Luke, chapter eleven, verse forty-six; "And He said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with BURDENS grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the BURDENS with one of your fingers." Here Jesus is reading the riot act to the Pharisees! They said people had to follow the Laws, ALL OF THEM. All 613 of them, to the letter. When The Law is practiced this way it is NOT practiced out of love. Many people see church this way today. We feel we cannot live up to such high standards. And, we are correct... we can't.
