HEREAFTER!

John 13:6&7
"6 Then cometh He to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto Him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter."

Peter FAILED the night of Jesus's arrest. Peter denied that he was a Jesus follower, repeatedly. He did not lived up to his OWN expectations. We can turn to the Gospel of John 21:1-19 where Jesus works to restore Peter's ego and self-image. And, then in Acts 2:1-41 we read about the first Pentecost where Peter is once again the bold leader in front of a crowd of Jewish people "CROWING" like a rooster about Jesus Christ! On that day, through PETER, the Holy Ghost brought 3,000 souls to believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior!!!

We want to learn from Peter. He did not let his failure define him. He was saved by Jesus and he was able to share The Gospel message. We have a HUGE advantage over Peter in that we see more of the pieces of the puzzle that is Jesus's life story which is the story of life.

Before Pentecost and before the Crucifixion Jesus even told Peter that he would understand things later. Today's verses; "Then cometh He to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto Him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest NOT NOW; but thou shalt know HEREAFTER." We live in Peter's HEREAFTER. We know about the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. We know that Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead. We know what Peter did not know! All the more reason we have to "CROW" about the Gospel message!!!

I will make you

Matthew 4:19&20 "19 And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him." In our "Follow Me" series, we study Jesus calling His disciples in the Gospel of Matthew. By the Sea of Galilee, a thriving fishing hub, Jesus saw Simon and Andrew casting nets as humble fishermen. His disciples were ordinary workers, not wealthy or educated elites. Jesus approached them and said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Remarkably, they immediately left their jobs to follow Him. This brief exchange conveys a profound truth: Jesus says, "I will make you." Only God can transform us to accomplish His purpose. We should often pray, "Help me, God," seeking Jesus' guidance to follow His plan for our lives.

it's over

Revelation 7:17 "For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." Heaven. After the "great tribulation." After we are purified and justified through the atoning work of Christ. We will stand in front of the Lamb and wave palm branches in celebration of victory over death and sin.  We will be with GOD. God will protect us and provide for us. We will be caught up in worshiping Him day and night. Our generous GOD keeps giving even in the afterlife. The tribulations of life will be over. "and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." Your days of crying will be OVER! Your loneliness will be OVER!  Your failure will be OVER! Your sickness will be OVER! Your suffering will be OVER! Your cup will be OVERFLOWING with HIS mercy and love. Nothing can separate you from the Love of Christ. Keep your "eyes" on Jesus. He is your key. ...

you are witnesses

Luke 24:48 "And ye are witnesses of these things." In Epic Fails—God Prevails, we see people make big mistakes—yet God uses our shortcomings to advance His plan. God is Amazing! Peter did much right (even walking on water!) but epically failed by denying Jesus. Post-resurrection, Jesus showed how His suffering, death, and resurrection fulfilled Old Testament prophecies. Despite years with Him and deep Scripture knowledge, the disciples couldn't grasp it alone—they needed divine help. True understanding requires God's intervention; human insight falls short. At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit ignited Peter's faith; he preached, and thousands believed. On Damascus road, Jesus converted Paul, who evangelized and wrote most of the New Testament. You and I can be used in God’s plan too. With Jesus’ love inside, we are empowered to stand for Him. Like empowered Peter! Like empowered Paul! Like countless empowered saints! Like the empowered you! Today's verse affirms the ...
