Acceptable to GOD

Psalm 19:13&14
"13 Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."

On the banks of the Jordan River, witnessed by John the Baptizer and the multitude of people; clearly the HOLY TRINITY was revealed!!! "The heavens DECLARE the GLORY of GOD!" Read Psalm 19 with all this in mind; The Gospel message has gone out to every corner of the world! Where God's word is preached and taught there is light and knowledge! There we will find goodness and mercy. 

"Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression." The great transgression would be to NOT believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. While this is a great problem today, perhaps greater still are presumptuous sins. Things we do that we don't believe are sins and things we don't WANT to be sins. Who could possibly be a wicked sinner? Not me!?!

We don't want to be sinners but WANTING and WISHING it to not be true doesn't work. We need to study GOD'S word and attend a healthy well ballaced church constantly making sure we are walking the walk and talking the talk. "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer." How much influence does the word of God have over your life? Weighing the scriptures with the way you live. Your prayers for your life are they acceptable to GOD???

The Bread of Life

John 6:33-35 "33 For the bread of God is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 34 Then said they unto Him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." We were studying GOD'S Covenant symbolized by the RAINBOW. It's a VERY important message to know that the Great Flood will NOT happen again. When we see the RAINBOW we want to remember this Covenant. We also want to remember our own Covenant with GOD and how the waters of Baptism washed us clean and gives us the promise of eternal life. This week we will study another Covenant from GOD; The Covenant of Holy Communion. Instituted by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jeroboam

2 Kings 14:25 "He restored the coast of Israel from the entering of Hamath unto the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel, which he spake by the hand of His servant Jonah, the son of Amittai, the prophet, which was of Gathhepher." We’re continuing our series on God’s calling of His people. Last week we saw how God transformed the Apostle Paul—from zealous enemy to greatest champion. A clear theme is emerging: those God calls often start with reluctance. This week we meet one of the most famous reluctant prophets, Jonah. Jonah’s first recorded prophecy appears in 2 Kings 14:25.
