Matthew 6:8 & 9
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
We want to pray without ceasing. We cannot pray too much. Jesus has taught us our prayers are a private matter between us and God. We want to have genuine and honest pray from our hearts! Yesterday we looked at the handy guide for us expressing ourselves to GOD is to remember the acronym "ACTS."
Adoration
Confession
Thanksgiving
Supplication
Sometimes prayers from our own heart and mind will have our sinful desires expressed in them. As today's verses point out; "your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, BEFORE ye ASK Him." God knows what is best for you. He has a plan for you. Some of our prayer energy needs to be devoted to understanding what God has planned for you.
Many times it's best to take our own ego out of our time communicating to God and recite The Lord's Prayer. Which Jesus begins teaching us here; "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name..."
