5G: GOOD GIFTS GOD GIVES GRACIOUSLY

Matthew 6:12 & 13
"12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."

These cherished verses in the Gospel of Matthew are the record of the time the Disciples ASKED our Lord and Savior to teach them how to PRAY! We call this The Lord's Prayer.

"Our Father who art in heaven."
The Introduction. We approach God as His children.

"Hallowed be Thy name."
The First Petition. We want to learn God's Word humbly and truthfully and keep His name Holly.

"Thy kingdom come."
The Second Petition. God send The Holy Ghost that we might lead godly lives here and into eternity.

"Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
The Third Petition. We want to choose what is good and beautiful in the eyes of GOD.

"Give us this day our daily bread."
The Fourth Petition. Everything we have is given to us from GOD!

"And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."
The Fifth Petition. We do not deserve the GIFTS GOD GIVES us and we ask God to not hold our sins against us. Please, forgive us. Understanding how bad we are we recognize we need to sincerely forgive and gladly do good to those who do wrong against us.

"And lead us not into temptation."
The Sixth Petition. We are praying for protection from the devil, the world, and our own sinful nature! We don't want to deceive ourselves or lead others into false belief or despair.

"But deliver us from evil."
The Seventh Petition. The simple request to the complex problems of this life. There are many evils that we may entertain and even flirt with. Sometimes evil comes looking for us. We ask God to help us and rescue us from all these evils.

"For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever."
The Conclusion. GOD is the King of Kings. He is in control as The Almighty Creator. And, He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. Without end, For Ever!

"Amen."
Amen means “yes, yes, it shall be so.”

Jesus, Himself taught His Disciples to pray this prayer. These are words that pleases God to hear us say them. We should always keep this prayer at the tip of our tounges. We need to recite it frequently. I think at least daily. I myself sometimes uses it as a meditation and repeat the prayer many times. It is another GIFT from GOD. We are very blessed to have it. We should use it.

You can carry this prayer with us all the time, with the APP from the Google Play store or the Apple App store! It is the reference of the official 1986 version of Luther’s Small Catechism. This beautifully designed app makes reading and navigating the Small Catechism easy and convenient.

to be taller

Matthew 6:27 "27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?" Jesus has questions... Beginning our study this week with "Why Do You Worry?" Questions have always been a cornerstone of education, used to assess students’ knowledge, promote comprehension, and stimulate critical thinking. Well-crafted questions lead to new insights, generate discussion, and promote the comprehensive exploration of the subject. It makes sense that GOD would use questions VERY effectively. In yesterday's verses, Jesus asked "Are you not MUCH BETTER than birds?" His questions do not end there. In today's verse we read another one, "Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?" This is a sentence our culture needs to learn. No anxiety, no thinking, no wanting will alter our bodily height, or any other condition of our life that is fixed by God’s laws. We often wish things were different than they are, but our "wo...

Romans 6:3&4 "3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." In our studies we are striving to understand God’s love and care. God's unconditional love for His followers, appreciating that we are part of GOD’S family! God is with us from cradle to grave. His divine presence is always giving us purpose and guidance. One of the most important milestones in the life of a Christian is baptism. When we are baptized, an indelible mark is made on our soul. This mark signifies a permanent transformation and dedication of the individual to God. The act of Baptism involves water and the invocation of the Holy Trinity. This ritual is seen as a symbolic washing away of original sin and a new birth into the life of Christ. Baptism is a foundational s...

our daily stress

Matthew 6:11 "Give us this day our daily bread." Last week we focused our studies on “Thy Will Be Done...” We can TRUST in the LORD with ALL our hearts. Let GOD lead us in our daily lives. GOD'S will is for you and me to follow His plan. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Serve Him by helping your friends and neighbors. It's a beautiful way. The rest of this petition is “On Earth as it is in Heaven.” We want God’s kingdom to be established on earth, reflecting the harmony and perfection found in heaven. We can have this in the here and now by prioritizing God’s will, seeking His guidance, and striving to live according to Biblical principles. However, we must keep in mind that we live in a fallen world. Too many will not join in our journey with Jesus. This tension and stress will cause everyone difficulties. This week we will study the fourth petition from the Lord's Prayer. "Give us this day our daily bread." God certainly gives daily bread to every...
