Luke 8:6-8
"6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when He had said these things, He cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."
This week our focus is on SEED planting as we begin a new sermon series titled; God's Garden. We are living in GOD'S Garden. For us it's the New Year and we are making "Resolutions" to do better. Most of the year we make "To Do" list for ourselves. Or, we make "To Do" list for others and even call them "Honey Dos!" And, a lot of the time we achieve the items on these lists. When this occurs it reminds us just how sweet, nutritious and delicious Honeydew Melons are! Our featured fruit from God's Garden this week.
We have turned to the Gospel of Luke, chapter eight, beginning with verse four, when a crowd gathered around and Jesus tells the PARABLE of the sower. Some seed has been stepped on. Some is eaten by birds. Some could not grow on rocks. Some were chocked out by thorns and weeds. And, in today's verse "And other fell on GOOD GROUND, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when He had said these things, He CRIED, He that hath ears to hear, LET HIM HEAR."
Please note; Jesus's "Honey Do" for everyone who has ears; "LET HIM HEAR." Jesus's expectation is that we will all be GOOD GROUND for the seeds that He is planting! This is the man going to the cross. He is dying for our sins. Naturally He trusts that we will be "GOOD GROUND, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold!!!" Jesus has placed His trust in you and me!!!
The good parts of these daily devotionals are inspired by the sermon at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg Texas. You can watch it by following this link... https://youtu.be/GuKAH3A58tE
