Matthew 7:7-11
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"
We have a good, GOOD FATHER in God.
As we studied this past week He has COUNTLESS "thoughts" for the whole wide world. God has FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made all created things! GOD'S care and plans go beyond this life and this world, He has done everything necessary to secure salvation for our souls! For eternity!
God's thoughts are "THOUGHTS of PEACE. His plans for us are not based on our own merit. God's plans are based on His mercy and generosity. We need to dwell on this knowledge that God has an INFINITE tenderness which is manifest in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Today's verses futher drive home the point in more teaching from our Lord and Savior; "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If YE then, being EVIL, know how to give GOOD GIFTS unto your children, how much MORE shall your Father which is in heaven give GOOD things to them that ask him?"
Our Heavenly Father will give MORE and BETTER gifts. This supports and underscores everything we studied this week. God has given us all the best. God is better than we give Him credit for. As we continue our studies this week will see this in even greater evidence as we revisit the parable of The Prodigal Son...
