Psalm 121:3 & 4
"3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep."
GOD does NOT sleep.
Yet, when Jesus came to us as a baby He needed to sleep! Like the great and timeless song; "Away In A Manger" written by: Martin Luther! "...the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay." It is very satisfying and endearing. To see in our mind's eye a quiet moment when this Holy Baby sleeps. This BABY wholly venerable human AND wholly omnipotent GOD!
Our beloved God came dome from Heaven to help us all!!! We turn to the book of Psalms to chapter one hundred and twenty-one. This beautiful fact that we need help from ABOVE; "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth."
And, today's verses; "He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep." When Jesus walked the dusty roads of Judea He slept and at times was tired, even fatigued. He experienced what it was like to be fully human; just like you and me. We need sleep all our lives. And, our schedules change over time and our sleep schedule changes too. Six to eight hours is what our bodies need to recharge our batteries. Both; physically and mentally.
