LOVE ONE ANOTHER

John 13:34 & 35
"34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another."

We were studying the parable of The Prodigal Son in the Gospel of Luke. We saw that there are THREE PRODIGALS! The two sons were WASTEFULLY EXTRAVAGANT. They were BOTH motivated by greed, pride and selfishness. They expressed it differently.

The father in the parable is like GOD; He comes to His children. God doesn't wait for His children to get right. He goes to them and helps them. Comes to you where you are. We are Children of the Heavenly Father and He is EXTRAVAGANTLY GENEROUS with ALL of us. Even the PRODIGALS.

Today we turn to the Gospel of John were our Lord and Savior very plainly speaks His new commandment; 
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye LOVE ONE ANOTHER; 
as I have LOVED you, 
that ye also LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
By this shall all men know 
that ye are My disciples, 
if ye have LOVE ONE to ANOTHER."

We can transform our lives if we can become motivated by "LOVE ONE to ANOTHER." If we can follow the example of EXTRAVAGANT GENEROUSITY!!! 

And, it all begins in the pew with you and me. Please join us at one of the oldest Lutheran Churches in the region! It is beautiful! An old stone building with vibrant stained glass everywhere you look. And, ornately carved wood altar and flying pulpit! It is an amazing sight to behold. And, the people are VERY friendly and welcoming. The Pastor's are outstanding and outgoing. We look forward to seeing you in worship.

Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel.  Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted!
