Ezekiel 17:24
"24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it."
We studied two parables in chapter four of the Gospel of Mark; the CAST SEED, explaining how the Gospel is spread, and the tiny MUSTARD SEED that grows into a giant tree, explaining how the Kingdom of GOD develops. Both are VERY important lessons from Jesus Christ to His followers.
Yesterday we circled back to the prophecy of Ezekiel written some six HUNDRED years before Jesus' ministry recorded in the Gospels. Here we read of another GREAT tree; "under it shall dwell ALL FOWL of every wing..." This is GOD'S church with it's many branches providing a home for all kinds of people. Jesus was the "young twigs a tender one" who like a tiny MUSTARD SEED grew into a GIANT TREE that shelters and provides a dwelling place for so many of us today.
This is the FAMILY TREE of the CHURCH and we are all CHILDREN OF THE HEAVENLY FATHER. Today's verse underscores that everyone will one day KNOW the work of our Lord and Savior! There will be no mistaking the power of GOD! That blessed day when GOD'S plan is fulfilled and the prayer we share with GOD; “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done..."
Please join us at one of the oldest Lutheran Churches in the region! It is beautiful! An old stone building with vibrant stained glass everywhere you look. And, ornately carved wood altar and flying pulpit! It is an amazing sight to behold. And, the people are VERY friendly and welcoming. The Pastor's are outstanding and outgoing. We look forward to seeing you in worship.
